Hannah spent twenty years of her life in a relationship with a narcissist. He lied to and cheated on her. Repeatedly. He gave her less and less and she accepted the crumbs because she thought she loved him and – at times – that he loved her. Only after it was finally over, did she realize that there was a pathology to Gabriel’s behavior. That he wasn’t randomly cruel and perhaps not even intentionally so. That Gabe was a psychologically damaged human being. That he often didn’t know what “normal” was. And if he did, that he didn’t care. That he might have tried to be a good partner and that he was not evil; that he had many good qualities. But he was never interested in building trust, in facing and addressing uncomfortable truths about himself, despite many chances and loving hands that reached out to help. This is Hannah’s story.
