Cracking Creative Writing in KS1 contains 75+ creative writing activities linked to the grammar requirements of the National Curriculum, providing pupils with opportunities to practise, reinforce and consolidate their grammar and punctuation skills.

The activities encourage children in Years 1 and 2 to engage with the prescribed elements of English, to use, manipulate and play with them - and in the process - discover how they can use them effectively their own writing. Through playing and experimenting with the language, pupils will start to see themselves as confident and increasingly successful writers.

All the activities are designed to fit easily into one lesson making it easy to integrate them into your planning and children are usually excited and surprised by what they can achieve in a very short time.

Each activity includes a stimulus poem or passage, to share with pupils and inspire them.

Differentiation suggestions are provided, making the activities easily adaptable for children of different abilities.
