The current book serves as the second installment in the Underutilized and Underexploited Horticultural Crops series edited by Prof. K.V. Peter. Like its predecessor, this volume covers six chapters dedicated to underutilized fruits, five on vegetables, one on tuber crops, three each on flowers and trees, and two on spices. Dr. Bhuwon Sthapit from IPGRI, Malaysia has contributed a chapter on In Situ Conservation of Horticultural Crops. The underutilized fruits of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are thoroughly examined by Dr. D.R. Singh, while prominent scientists in their respective fields cover Giant Granadilla, Apricot, Low Chilling Peaches, Aonla, and Ber. Dr. Umesh Srivastava from ICAR, New Delhi delves into Genetic Resource Management in Cucurbits, and Dr. Samadia from the Central Institute of Arid Horticulture, Bikaner discusses Arid Vegetables. Dr. S.K. Pandey, the Director of CPRI, Shimla, elucidates the Taxonomy of Temperate Underutilized Root and Tuber Crops. Dr. U. Sreelatha from the Kerala Agricultural University explores the flowers surrounding homesteads, and Dr. K. Valliappan provides an overview of Liliums. The trees covered in this book include Mahua, Chironji, and Drumstick. Dr. A.M. Rao and Dr. P. Indira delve into Turmeric and Long Coriander, respectively.
