The book presented discusses matters that are personal and real to the writer. The author, who is one of four children, was sexual abused from a young age, and this book discusses how the abuse impacted her in a range of different ways including her relationships with siblings, her mother, father and men in general, alongside the emotional and psychological impact the abused caused. This book shows the journey of how the writer dealt with the abuse, even over ten years post the abuse and the aftermath of its impact. Through Christ and trying daily to live a Christ-like life, the author was saved from being in a worse condition. As she shares her journey, the writer also covers women in the Bible who have been in similar situations, with direct quotes from the Bible in order to encourage readers that they are not the only people that have suffered with this turmoil.
