A phone call can change everything. A young woman learns her father has passed away and she has to make the long journey home to his funeral. Along the way, she remembers how her relationship with her father developed from the dysfunctional mess it had once been, to a close and loving bond, developed over time. Memories of the man nicknamed Hugo flood her mind through the journey. Dealing with her dysfunctional family upon returning home, she is finally able to reconcile her feelings of rejection.
