This is the first in the Breedon Books series of Memorable Games . It includes scans and content from 1931 FA Programme and 1906 Opening of St. Andrew's brochure - rare pieces of Birmingham City Memorabilia. It also includes interviews with featured players of the Memorable Games . Birmingham City Football Club has been acknowledged over the years as 'a sleeping giant'. Unfortunately for its fans, the giant has not awoken since the club's formation in 1875. Over 130 years of professional football in the heart of industrial Midlands has produced only one major trophy - The League Cup in 1963 - alongside a million heartaches and disappointments for its fans. Therefore it was never going to be an easy task as a lifelong supporter of a football club to select fifty memorable games from its history. Such was my dilemma when asked to produce this book. In the end I have been entirely subjective in my selections, there is no rhyme or reason behind the final choice - a few selected themselves - Cup Final appearances; Excursions into Europe, Promotions but the vast majority are there just because they will mean something to Blues' supporters. Many of them symbolise what it means to be a Birmingham City Football Club fan - a glorious record of the optimism, blind faith and unswerving loyalty required to be a True Blue. How many clubs would have included in their 50 most memorable games: The first Golden Goal at Wembley; the first match played on a Sunday; a World Cup Winner's individual demolition of Southampton; being Champions but not being promoted; and, a sixteen year old scoring all four goals in a match. Included in the book are personal interviews with ex-Blues players such as: Howard Kendall, Ken Leek, Jimmy Harris, Ian Clarkson, Paul Tait, Paul Devlin et al.
