SMILY arose out of my desire to share the benefits of yoga with children in my role as a pediatric Occupational Therapist working in a school setting. I wanted to provide children, therapists and teachers with a fun and unique way of enhancing the development of skills needed for success at school. I also knew that the use of yoga could be justified as an effective method to stimulate learning while supporting basic educational requirements. My hope is that you find this book very user-friendly. I have tried my best to include everything you need to incorporate the SMILY program into your weekly lessons and/or treatment planning.
