Lena was a scared, timid child who survived the tragic deaths of most of her biological family and then found a safe haven with an adoptive family. But eventually her adopted mother commits suicide. Ten years later, Lena reluctantly joins a therapy group where she makes friends and meets Alex who clearly finds her attractive. Lena doesn't like his attention but she thinks it's because of her own hang-ups from her past. As Lena's family lets Alex move into their family circle, she finds herself more and more disturbed by the persistence of his attentions.
