"The Island of Doctor Moreau" is a science fiction novel written by H.G. Wells in 1896. The story is narrated by Edward Prendick, a shipwrecked man who is rescued by a passing boat and left on the island home of Doctor Moreau, a mad scientist who creates human-like hybrid beings from animals via vivisection.
