One of Thousands: A Personal Account of the Days of 9/11, is exactly what the title says. However, never has a story line this from the very first moments of that day and then the decision to head down and lead a group of men from the Department of Sanitation down into the inferno of the Twin Towers which had collapsed and trapped thousands of individuals. He did not know if he would ever see his family again, but something inside compelled him to go and do something, anything to help his fellow man, totally disregarding his own life.
