"Mr. O'Brien," A deep voice echoed in the distance. "…I remember you. It's good to finally meet you, sir."

Even though I knew where it had come from, the quake of the voice still scared the crap out of me. I turned slowly to see the faceless monster looking right at me and the old man. At least I think he was looking at us. It was hard to tell; he had no eyes. Only a blank gaze where his eyes should have been.

The voice came again: "Mr. O'Brien, please approach the door."
