The Wisdom of the Fallow Season

A fallow period can look empty from the outside. Reduced output, quiet, uncertainty, and incubation may be dismissed as failure in a culture that recognizes only visible production. Drawing carefully from seasonal and philosophical wisdom, William R. Stanek explores how dormancy can protect, consolidate, restore, and prepare. Through the Renewal Cycle Map, you will examine whether one area of life needs less production and more restoration—without romanticizing hardship or assuming everyone has equal freedom to rest.
